Memories of Nottinghamshire,

If viewing these pages has stirred your memories of yesteryear
then the purpose of this site has proved worthwhile.

Memories of Nottinghamshire was a Nottingham based local history
and oral project created by the late Paul Nix.  It was designed to
capture and preserve peoples memories of bygone times and
experiences, before they were lost forever.

N.H.H.T. are the initials of

Originally formed in 1965 to try to save or at least record before destruction, the cave sites continually being discovered during the major redevelopment of the town that took place in Nottingham in the 1960s.

Almost every day new sites were unearthed and destroyed before anyone was notified;  the last thing they wanted was someone telling them to stop what they were doing; TIME is MONEY.

During this period the team, about ten strong (varied dependent on availability and time), recorded, cleaned and helped preserve many sites that would have been lost forever.
